The Maastricht Argument Day is hosted by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Metajuridica of the Universiteit Maastricht.

The Maastricht Argument Day is an international workshop on argument. Prominent researchers in the field of formal argument present their work.

The Day has the form of a series of talks, with room for discussion. We have reserved about three quarters of an hour for each speaker, including discussion. The main goal of the workshop is to provide a meeting place where researchers on argument can informally meet.

Recently there has been a lot of enthusiasm in this area, while there still are promises for the future. However, the research seems to remain rather scattered. In order to add to the coherence in the field, we have suggested the speakers to address questions such as the following:

Program
Abstracts of talks
Speakers and registered participants

The Maastricht Argument Day is sponsored by the Dutch Association for Artificial Intelligence (NVKI), the Dutch Foundation for Legal Knowledge Systems (JURIX), the Dutch Foundation for Knowledge-Based Systems (SKBS), the MAastricht Technological Research Institute for Knowledge and Systems (MATRIKS), the Department of Computer Science and the Faculty of Law.
