Groningse studenten Kunstmatige Intelligentie winnen Robocode wedstrijd
Een door twee Groningse studenten Kunstmatige Intelligentie - Enno Peters en Martijn Muurman - geprogrammeerde software robot heeft de Robocode competitie gewonnen. In deze competitie, waarin 'tank robots' in een 2D omgeving elkaar het leven moeilijk maken wordt uitgegaan van de programmeertaal Java.Hier wat tips van de winnaars.

After months of heated competition among developers from around the globe, IBM's Robocode Rumble, a Java programming competition based on its Robocode programming game, climaxed with a face-off among eight finalists. Three winners are taking home the championship titles. The contest kicked-off at IBM's developerWorks Live! in San Francisco with a competition on the show floor, attracting hundreds of entries. Based on the skill of the programmer, entries are separated into three levels; beginner, intermediate and advanced. Although the game comes with a standard API, the more creative and thorough the developer, the more likely their robot is to outlast the competition. The winners are: Advanced Category: Dutch developer Enno Peters' "Yngwie" 'bot beat out eight contenders yesterday in a final showdown with "Vapour", written by British developer Steve Coope. Beginning Category: German developer Manfred Schuster won the finals for his entry, "Ares". Intermediate Category: Arun Kishore from Singapore won in the intermediate category with "Fermat".
