Examples of M.Sc. Theses

A typical M.Sc. thesis at KI/RuG will have 50-60 pages. Very detailed or technical material is usually presented in additional Appendix pages. Since the goal is to ultimately be able to produce scientific articles, the structure and format of the thesis should closely resemble "real" scientific literature and should not give the impression of an informal technical report or an informal chronological work journal. On the other hand, an M.Sc. thesis (half a year's work) is not such a huge life work as is the Ph.D. thesis (four years of work).

Sometimes, a very good M.Sc. thesis may constitute the basis for a real scientific publication. In such a case, clear agreements must be formed concerning authorship, by the internal and external supervisors and the student.
