An increase or a decrease of information?
In defeasible argumentation, a paradoxical situation occurs:
On the one hand, one can argue that when arguments become defeated and conclusions become unjustified, there is a decrease of information.
On the other hand, such defeat is the result of additional information in the form of arguments and counterarguments implying an increase of information.
