A conclusion is justified if its proponent has convinced its opponent in a dialogue that satisfies certain constraints
The purpose of a dialogue is to find a set of premises shared by the proponent and the opponent from which a hypothesized conclusion follows (deductively)
If such a basis is not found, the hypothesized conclusion is not justified
