Defeat statuses and argumentation stages
A different way to study the attack relation is based on the assignment of defeat statuses (either defeated or undefeated) to the arguments.
A defeat status assignment that assigns a defeat status to the arguments in a set R is an argumentation stage if it holds that:
An argument ? in R is defeated if and only ifthere is an undefeated argument ? in R that attacks ?.
