Models of defeasible argumentation vs. nonmonotonic logics
Main difference
In nonmonotonic logics, the focus is on consequences.
For any set of premises P, a set of consequences Cons(P) is defined (or occasionally a set of sets of consequences).
In models of defeasible argumentation, the focus is on arguments.
For any set of premises P, a set of arguments Args(P) is defined. For any such set of arguments, a subset JustArgs(P) is defined that consists of arguments that justify their conclusions (or occasionally a set of such subsets).
