The Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS) aims to stimulate research in the humanities and social sciences and to promote interdisciplinary co-operation in an international setting. Each year NIAS awards fellowships to over fifty scholars half of which are foreign and half from the Netherlands.
In 2006-2007 I've been awarded such a scholarship.
B.M. Dunin-Kęplicz (University of Warsaw),
D.J.N. van Eijck (Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science, Amsterdam, coordinator),
M.V.B.P.M. van Hees (Universtiy of Groningen) and
K. Segerberg (University of Uppsala) and
myself shall comprise the ``Games, Action and Social Software'' project group.
The purpose of the project is to bring together a group of creative researchers from philosophy, logic, computer science and economics, to investigate the logical, computational and strategic aspects of social mechanisms. The aim is to arrive at an interdisciplinary perspective, and help create an active community with a more definite agenda.
You may take a look at the current (December 2008) version of the project book "Discourses on Social Software" (eds. Jan van Eijck and Rineke Verbrugge, illustrataions Marco Swaen) at Current version .
