Nominator's statement

     This paper was very important in at least two ways: 1) by revealing a
     neural representation of a complex cognitive/motor operation; and 2)
     by illustrating how a population code could make use of coarse coding
     at a neuron level to represent a complex cognitive operation. Good
     nomination!
