Welcome!

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Groningen working on a fascinating topic - antonymy under the supervision of Jennifer Spenader. My promoter is Rineke Verbrugge.

Antonyms

The main goal of my PhD project is to identify and extract antonyms automatically. The description of why it is useful, how it is challenging and how I am addressing the problems is coming soon..!



Upcoming Events:

November 30: The defense of my dissertation "The Anatomy of Antonymy: A Corpus-Driven Approach". The defense will take place at 11am in the Aula of the Academy building, the University of Groningen. Everyone is welcome to come.

I presented our most recent results at the meeting of Discourse and Communication Group.

April 19: "Automatic extraction of antonyms by means of lexico-syntactic patterns"
I gave an introduction to our paper "Defining antonymy: a corpus- based study of opposites found by lexico-syntactic patterns" (Lobanova, A., Spenader J., & van der Kleij, T.) at the meeting of Lexical Contrasts reading group.

May 25: Rineke Verbrugge had her inaugural lecture "Thinking about thinking about thinking: logic and social cognition."
